Cates, Chairman of Change County Board of <br />Elections." <br />Upon motion oP Commissioner Henry Walker, aeconded by Commissioner <br />Ira Ward, the above resolution was unanimously adopted. <br />wr`~ Chairman B®nnett recognized @uentin Patterson and representatives <br />of the State Conservation and Development Commission. T'Ir. Patterson <br />explained that the Resource and Conservation Department was preparing its <br />forthcoming budget and that it was in the position to consider, <br />including in its budget proposals, the Seven Mile Creek Reservoir Projeat <br />if it was the desire of the Board of Commissioners to receive funds for <br />the said Seven Mile Creak Project. Each representative of the Conservation <br />Department explained how the funding of any project had to be managed. <br />Dissuasion ensued. r, <br />r <br />The County Administrator presented a change order for the Webco <br />Plant water line. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner William C. Ray, aeconded by Commissioner <br />Henry S. Walker, it was moved and adopted, that Change Order Number 2 <br />be signed by Chairman Bennett and that said Order would extend the 12" <br />water line, currently. being constructed to the Webco Plant, an additional ~, <br />1.20 feet w®stward along the State Highway Commissions right of way. <br />i <br />There being no further business to some before the Board said <br />meeting was adjourned to meet again on Monday, April 24, 1972, at 8 <br />o~clock P. M, on Monday, April 2!}, 1972. <br />Merabera Present: Chairman Ziarveg D. Bennett, and Commissioners <br />William C. Ray, Henry S. Walker, Ira A, tdard and C. Vorman Walker. <br />Members Absent: None <br />Miss Rebecca Wall, Don I•Iatheaon, representing the Hillsborough <br />Library Board, Lloyd Osterman, Librarian of the Hyconeeahee Regional <br />Library and L. M. Cheshire, County Attorney, were present. <br />Chairman Bennett recognized Mias. Wa11. I~Cias Wall stated that she <br />was prepared to make a gift to the County of her homeplace known as <br />"Burnside", however, she wanted this property converted into a public <br />library and wanted to be assured that the conversion would be made without <br />destroying the two existing buildir~s and that if this oould not be done <br />then she would expeot the property to be returned to her. . <br />Chairman Bennett expressed the delight and the gratitude of the Board <br />in the generosity of P1iss Wa11~s gift. He stated that the Board would <br />retain an architect who would investigate the possibility and the <br />-- feasibility of converting the homeplace into a library, He assured I•Liss <br />wall that the Ruffin Law Office would be maintained in its present state <br />and that iP the County found it impractioal to convert the house into a <br />usable library facility then the property would be deeded beak to T4isa Wall. <br />It was agreed that Miss Wa11 should be provided with a letter of intent <br />from the County relative to her gift. <br />
