Ray: <br />"That whereas, a petition has been filed with the Board of <br />Counniseionera requesting that an election be held within the area <br />hereinafter described for the purpose of submitting to the <br />_ qualified voters within such area the question of levying and <br />aolleating a special tax on all taxable property in said district, <br />of not exceeding Pifteen cents (15¢) of the one hundred dollars <br />($100.00) valuation of property, for the purpose of providing <br />fire protection in said district; and <br />Whereas, at least fifteen per cent of the resident freeholders <br />living in the hereinafter described area have signed said petition; <br />and <br />Whereas, said petition is filed with the Board of Commissioners <br />pursuant to Article 3A, Chapter 69, of the General Statutes of North <br />Carolina; and <br />Whereas, such article requires the Soard of Commissioners to call , <br />an election within the hereinafter described area: <br />NOW, TBI:REFORE, BE IT RESOLVEp, that the Board of Commissioners <br />of Orange County, North Carolina, does hereby call for an election <br />within the hereinafter described district for the purpose of <br />submitting to the qualified voters therein the question of levying <br />and collecting a spacial tax on all taxable property in said district, <br />of not exceeding fifteen cents (l5¢) of the one hundred dollars <br />0100.00) valuation of property within said district. <br />SE IT FARTHER RESOLVED, that at said election those voters <br />who are in favor of lsvyir_g a tax in said district Por fire <br />protection therein shall, vote a ballot on which shall be written <br />or printed, "TN FAVOR OF TAX FOR FIRE PROTECTION IN r"F'I,AND k'IRE <br />DEPARTME9IT DISTRICT".
