Mr. Clark and Mr, Cates were requested to further <br />investigate the desirability of estab],ishing said diatriata and were given the <br />approval oP the Board to proceed with plane for additional study oP the matter. <br />Chairman Sennett recognized Walter McDade, Director of the EPland Multi <br />Purpose Center. Mr. McDade stated that he would like to have a officer who <br />would be present at the center during certain hours and that he had talked with <br />Sheriff Enight about police protection, however, the Sheri.Pf had stated that he <br />did not have available funds to pay the salary of an individual who could be on <br />the premises. Mr. McDade requested that the Board make available the necessary <br />funds for the employment of a security officer for the Efland Ma].ti Purpose <br />Center. Chairman Bennett advised Mr. McDade that the Board would have to disease <br />the matter with Sheriff ILnight before any action could be taken as the Board <br />did not fully underataad what problems the SherifP~s department would be <br />encountering by providing this security officer. <br />Commissioner Henry Walker stated that this was the day in which the Board <br />needed to elect its Chairman fox the coming year. He moved that Chairman <br />Harney Bennett be re-elected as Chairman oP the Board. Commissioner William <br />C.
