Finally, he said that this is not the year to <br /> set a target amount. He suggested not giving any expectations or promises. <br /> Commissioner Gordon agreed with Commissioner Jacobs on 2, 3, and 4. She would <br /> also like to understand more what the core services are for the categories. She also agreed <br /> about not adding a lot of new boards to the process. She said that it is the Board of County <br /> Commissioners' responsibility for funding. She suggested not doing proposal 1 or proposal 5. <br /> Chair Foushee said that it appears that the Board of County Commissioners is in favor <br /> of items 3 and 4 and item 2 as written, but with the staff bringing back to the Board of County <br /> Commissioners more goal-oriented information. The Board would like to strike items 1 and 5 in <br /> total. <br /> Commissioner Jacobs suggested not assigning funding amounts and Laura Blackmon <br /> said that she was trying to get away from that completely. Commissioner Jacobs also wants to <br /> be sure to counsel those two entities discussed previously. <br /> This item will return to the Board in February. <br /> b. Resolution Submitting Comments Regarding Options for the Durham- <br /> Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization's Draft 2035 Long Range <br /> Transportation Plan <br /> The Board considered a resolution submitting comments to the Durham-Chapel Hill- <br /> Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization Transportation Advisory Committee regarding <br /> transportation systems proposed for the Preferred Option for the Long Range Transportation <br /> Plan. <br /> Transportation Planner Karen Lincoln introduced this item. The Board is considering <br /> four options, which are described in the abstract— Bus Transit, Commuter Rail, STAC-DMU, <br /> and STAC-Electric. The Orange Unified Transportation Board reviewed this material in <br /> November and made comments. The recommendations were incorporated in the draft <br /> resolution. <br /> Commissioner Jacobs asked for an explanation on the second bullet on page 3. He <br /> asked what this had to do with University Station. This is confusing. Karen Lincoln said that <br /> she would work on the wording. <br /> Commissioner Gordon suggested saying "spur coming from University Station".
