y;;;;~: 7 PAC€ 400 <br />The County Administrator advised the Board that a request had been received <br />from the State Highway Commission as_to the name oP the person who had been <br />designated to supervise the removal of graves. The County Administrator stated <br />that under new legislation adopted by the last session of the legislature the <br />authority for designating such an individual was contained in General Statutes <br />b5-13(s). - <br />Upon motion of Commissioner William C. Ray, aeaonded by Commissioner 7xa A. <br />Ward, Dr. 0. David Garvin, Health Director, or one of his assistants was <br />designated to be reaponaible For the aupervis5.on of the removal of graves. __ <br />Commissioner Ira A. Ward suggested that Chairman Sennett contact the <br />Department of Natural & Economic Resources relative to the decision reached by <br />that department on the Whittaker Corporation matter. <br />L. M. Cheshire, County Attorney, advised the Board that he had received <br />a request from Rex Savery, Attorney for Cora Morrow, requesting the Board to <br />release the one-eighteenth (1/18th) interest of Sam and Lula Mae Perrq on one <br />acre of land which had been purchased from a twenty-five sate tract belonging <br />to the heirs oP Jerry Perry. The County lien had been filed against Sam and <br />Lu1a Perrq. Mr. 3avery had submitted the consideration of twenty-five dollars <br />($25.00) for the release of the lien against the one acre of land. It was <br />understood that the lien was still in affect against the other twenty-four sates. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner William C. Raq, seconded by Commissioner Hemrq <br />S. Walker, it wsa moved and adoppted, that the County Attorney be authorized to <br />release the one eighteenth (1/18th) intareat of Sam and Lola Mae Perry from the <br />lien dooket in the Clerk of Courts oPfiae. <br />There being no further business to some before the Board the meeting wee <br />adjourned to meet again an Tuesday, November 2, 1971, at 8 p.m. in the <br />Commissioners Room at the Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina <br />Harvey D. Bennett, Chairman <br />Betty June Hayes, Clerk <br />MINDTES OF THE ORANGE COIINTY <br />BCARD CF COMMISSIONERS <br />November 2, 1971 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Orange County met in adjourned session <br />in the Commissioners Roam at the Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina at <br />8 P. M. on Tuesday, November 2, 1971. <br />Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, and Commissioners William C. <br />Ray, Henry S. Walker, Ira A. Ward and C. Norman Walker. <br />Members Abaemt: None <br />r^~ <br />Bill Witherspoon, Representative of the Department of Natural & Economic <br />Resouraea, Tim Yarborough, Representative of the Whittaker Corporation, Steve <br />Strowd, Representative of the owners oP the proposed plant building, Pearson <br />Stewart, Representative of the Research Triangle Regional Planning Commission <br />and Fred Cates, Mayor of the Town of Hillsborough, were present. <br />This meeting was held for the purpose oY discussing with all members present <br />the request whioh had been received from the Whittaker Corporation relative to <br />the supplying oP water and sewerage service to the proposed plant site which is <br />to be located Sontheeat of Hillsborough. <br />Chairman Bennett recognized Jim Yarborough. Mr. Yarborough stated that his <br />company planned to occupy a building which would be comprised of 87 000 square <br />feet and that the plant would emploq approximately seventy-Pine (75j persons <br />and that he felt certain that the Whittaker Corporation would invest at least <br />$2,OOO,p00.00, two million dollars,•in the proposed facility. <br />
