The County Administrator stated <br />that under new legislation adopted by the last session oP the legislature the <br />authoritq Por designating auah an individual was contained in General Statutes <br />65-13(g). <br />Upon motion of Commissioner William C. Raq, seconded by Comm~issinner lra A. <br />Ward, Dr. 0. David Garvin, Health Director, or one of his assistants was <br />designated to be responsible for the supervision oP the removal of graves. <br />Commissioner Ira A. Ward suggested that Chairman Sennett aontaot the <br />Department of Natural & Eaonomia Resources relative to the deaiaion reached bq <br />that department on the Whittaker Corporation matter. <br />L. M. Cheshire, County Attorney, advised the Board that he had received <br />a request Prom Rex Savery, Attorney Por Cora Morrow, requesting the Board to <br />release the one-eighteenth (1/18th) interest oP Sam and Lula Mae Parry on one <br />acre oi' land which had been purchased from a twenty-five sore treat belonging <br />to the heirs of Jerry Perry. The County 13en had been filed against Sam and <br />Lula Perry. Mr. Savery had submitted the Consideration oP twenty-fine dollars <br />($25.00) Por the release of the lien against the one acre oP land. It was <br />understood that the lien wsa still in effect against the other twenty-Pour acres. <br />IIpon motion oP Commissioner William C. Ray, aecondad b9 Comdxiasioner Henry <br />S. M. on Tuesday, November 2, 1971. <br />Members Present: Chairman Har+rey D. Bennett, and Commissioners William C. <br />Ray, Henry S. Walker, Ira A. Ward and C. Norman Walker. <br />Members Absent: None <br />-~~ <br />Bill Witherspoon, Representative of the Department of Natural & Economic <br />Resources, Jim Yarborough, Representative of the Whittaker Corporation, Steve <br />Strowd, Representative aP the owners oP the proposed plant building, Pearson <br />Stewart, Repr®aentative oP the Research Triangle Regional Planning Cottunisaion <br />and Fred Cates, Mayor oP the Town of Hillsborough, were present. <br />This meeting wsa held for the purpose oP disansaing with all members present <br />the request which had been received Prom the Whittaker Corporation relative to <br />the aupplging oP water and sewerage service to the proposed plant site which is <br />to be located Southeast of Hillsborough. <br />Chairman Bennett recognized Jim Yarborough. Mr. Yarborough stated that his <br />company planned to occupy a building which would be comprised of 87 000 square <br />Peet and that the plant would employ approximately seventy-Five (75j persons <br />and that he Pelt certain that the Whittaker Corporation would invest at least <br />$2,000,000.00, two million dollars,•in the proposed facility. ` <br />`- <br />
