MIiiUTEB OF THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD of cor>Mxssxort~~s ~~;~~: ~~ 7 Pace 389 <br />August 21+, ],971 <br />:The 'Board oP County Commissioners of Orange County met in adjourned <br />session at 8:00 o~alock P.M. on Tuesday, August 2!}, 1971, in the Commissioners <br />Room of the Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br />Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, and Commissioners ldilliam <br />C. Ray, Henry S. Walker, xra A. Wa-rd and C. Norman Walker. <br />Members Absent: None - <br />Mr. Wi7.liam Graham, Assistant District Solicitor, was present and <br />requested the Board of Commissioners make available for the Solicitors use <br />offioe space either wit„3n or without the County Courthouse. Mr. Graham <br />pointed out that in his opinion it would be permissible to pay rent for this <br />space from the Facilities Fund. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner C. Norman Walker, seconded by Commissioner <br />Wi113am C. Ray, it was moved and unanimously adopted, that the County provide <br />office space for the Solicitor either i.r_ the Courthouse or by renting a <br />nearby offioe. <br />The County Administrator recommended that Martin Evans be appointed <br />Assistant Electrical Inspector for Orange Geunty. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner William C. Ray, seconded by Commiseiener <br />Henry S. Walker, it was moved and unanimously adopted, that Martin Evans <br />be appointed Assistant Eleetriaal Inspector for Orange County. <br />_ •The following Resolution was unanimously adopted: <br />WHEREAS, the Valley Forge Corporation is to construct a <br />manufacturing plant near the intersection of N. C. 86 and x-ay and <br />ti,~RFOS, the County is desirous oP assisting in aa3d construction <br />by making water and sewer available to auoh location and <br />WHEREAS, the twelve inch (12") water line running along' <br />highway 70-A from its intersection with SR 1009 is an essential ~ <br />link with, the municipal water system of the Town of Hillsborough. <br />- NOw, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOZVED, That the County of Orange <br />does agree to pay the sum of $10,2311.02 to John Mansville Company, <br />Inc. as an initial contribution towards the construction of the <br />aforesaid water lines upon condition that the County shall be <br />re-~.mbursed this sum of money from the sale of water flowing through • <br />the aforesaid twelve inch (7,2") lines in accordance with an agreement <br />heretofore entered into~~,.•-""' <br />There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting I <br />was adjourned. <br />i <br />Harvey D.
