ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: January 22, 2009 <br /> Action Agenc(a <br /> Item No. '+1) <br /> SUBJECT: Orange County Communications Center and Eno River State Park — <br /> Memorandum of Agreement <br /> DEPARTMENT: Emergency Services PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Craig Blackwood, 919-245-6130 <br /> Eno River State Park - MOA <br /> PURPOSE: To approve a Memorandum of Agreement outlining responsibilities in regards to <br /> communication between the Eno River State Park and the Orange County Communications <br /> Center. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Orange County Communications Center and Eno River State Park share <br /> interest in the safety and welfare of the public, property and resources, and seek to provide the <br /> appropriate response to fires, medical and law enforcement incidents and other emergencies <br /> within Orange County. Orange County Emergency Services has agreed to allow installation of <br /> the Eno River State Park radio in the Communications Center at their expense. The Eno River <br /> State Park radio will be monitored by Communications only as requested by the Eno River State <br /> Park Officer. Eno River State Park has agreed to the stipulations and understands County <br /> agencies have priority status. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no cost to the County as the Eno River State Park is responsible <br /> for the installation and maintenance of the radio equipment at the Communications Center. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (S): The Manager recommends the Board approve the Memorandum of <br /> Agreement and authorize the Chair to sign subject to final review by staff and the County <br /> Attorney. <br />
