Blythe, ext. 2130 <br />TELEPHONE NUMBERS: <br />Hillsborough 732-8181 <br />Chapel Hill 968-4501 <br />Durham 688-7331 <br />Mebane 336-227-2031 <br />PURPOSE: To amend the Resolution for Appointment and Orientation Process fior Boards and <br />Commissions that will require that all citizens applying for the OWASA Board of Directors sign a <br />disclosure form. <br />BACKGROUND: On October 26, 2000, the OWASA Board of Directors adopted a Resolution <br />Adopting an Ethics Policy for members of the OWASA Board of Directors. They requested that <br />we share this Board Member Disclosure Form with future applicants and/or appointees to the <br />OWASA Board. The County requires all applicants for County advisory boards and <br />commissions agree to follow the ethics guidelines adopted by the Board of Commissioners. <br />Staff is recommending that one sentence be added to #12 to read "In addition, all citizens <br />applying for the OWASA Board of Directors will be required to sign a Board Member Disclosure <br />Form.° <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE <br />RECOMMENDATION (S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve an amendment <br />to the Board's resolution for appointments to County boards and commissions adding to #12 the <br />sentence "In addition, all citizens applying for the OWASA Board of Directors will be required to <br />sign a Board Member Disclosure Form." <br /> <br />
