<br />1 <br />APPROVES F~~BRUAR,~ 1. 19 8 <br />MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY HOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />' JANUARY 19, 1988 <br />The Orange County Board of Co~issionsrs met in regular session on <br />Tuesday, January 19, 1988 at 7:30 p.m. in the Courtrooa of the old Post <br />Office, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. <br />BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Chair Shirley 8. Marshall and Commissioners <br />Maces Carey, Jr., Stephen Halkiotis, John Hartwell and Don willhoit. <br />ATT4R~Y ,~$g,~MNT: Geoffrey Gledhill. <br />STAFF PRESENT: Interior County Manager Albert Kittrell, Assistant <br />County Manager William T. Lawn, 1~,ssistant County Manager/Personnel <br />Director Beverly K. Whitehead, Management Analyst Pamela Janaffi, Cl®rk to <br />the Board Beverly A. Blythe, Director of Planning Marvin Collins, <br />A. EO_~A13D~'~$R~~~ME~ <br />Chair Marshall announced that the attorney will not bs in attendance <br />because of illness. She stated she listen4d to the tapes for the January <br />4, 1988 meeting with reference to the comments made on McLsnnan's Farm. <br />G-3 was removed from the agenda - Noise Ordinance. <br />F-3 was removed from the consent agenda and placed on the regular <br />agenda as G-3 <br />Commissioner Hartwell stated that the County Senior Citizens Board on <br />Aging passed a motion to work with Parks and Recreation ah providing a <br />mixed use facility in Efland and in the interim to support JOCCA on using <br />another facility. A second motion wore passed asking that renovations be <br />• made to the Cedar Grove facility. <br />8. AUDIENCE COUNTS, <br />1. Matters on the Printed Agenda <br />Those who have indicated a desire to speak to items on the printed <br />ag®nda will be recognized at the appropriate time. <br />2. Matters not on the printed Agenda <br />Mr. Gabby Ray spoke about the loud music at Roman's Roller Rink <br />and asked that the Noima Ordinance be presented in Hillsborough so 'that <br />those who live in that facility may be present. <br />Mr. Hjorklund reiterated Mr. Ray's comments. <br />Chair Marshall explained that the Noise Ordinance was removed from <br />the agenda because it was+ felt the changes may not be effective and solve <br />the problems in the area. <br />C. MINOTES <br />Motion was wade by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by Commissioner <br />Halkiotis to approve the Dsceaber 18, 1987 minutes as presented. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />Motion. was made by commissioner Halkiotis, seconded by Commissioner <br />Carey to approve the December 15, 1987 minutes ore corrected. <br />VOTE: iJNANIMOIIS. <br />~( BLIC CHARGE <br />chair Shirley E.
