MEETING DATE: 06/27!2002 NUMBER: P:0480 <br />• EFFECTIVE DATE: 07101!2002 REVISIONS: A03/20/1991 <br />A04/04/ 1993 <br />A10/06/1998 <br />A06/O1/1999 <br />Al 1/03/1999 <br />A05/08/2002 <br />A06127/02 <br />POLICY: Commissioners CompensationlBenefits/Travel <br />This Policy Combines Policies <br />Includes Letter from Attorney Geoff Gledhill in reference to Compensation of <br />Board of Commissioners <br />310 Commissioners' Salary, <br />430 Procedure for Local Travel Expense Reimbursement <br />481 Commissioners' Compensation Adjustment <br />483 County Contribution for Commissioner's Benefits <br />Board of Commissioners' Compensation: <br />Upon adoption of FY 2002-2003 Budget Ordinance, Grant and Capital Project <br />Ordinances, Classification and Pay Plan, and Personnel Ordinance Changes and monthly <br />travel expense allowances on June 27, 2002 <br />The Board of County Commissioners authorize that: <br />Compensation of County Commissioners will be adjusted in fiscal year 2002-03 to reflect <br />adjustments that the Board may establish for permanent Orange County employees, <br />during the 2002-03 fiscal year, for Cost of Living Adjustments and In-Range Salary <br />Increases, if there are any adjustments <br />Annual compensation for County Commissioners will include the County contribution <br />for health insurance, dental insurance and life insurance that is provided for permanent <br />County employees, provided the Commissioners are eligible for this coverage under the <br />insurance contracts and other contracts affecting these benefits. <br />Annual compensation for Commissioners will include a County contribution for each <br />Commissioner to the Deferred Compensation (457) Supplemental Retirement Plan that is <br />the same as the County contribution for non-law enforcement County employees to the <br />State 401 (k) plan. <br />Travel expense allowances for Commissioners will be established at $150 per month for <br />the Chairperson of the Board and at $125 per month for the other four Commissioners. <br />• <br />
