Policy Consideration - Subdivision Regulations Section III Application/Approval Procedures Presentation by Mary Scearbo. On January 3, 1989, the Sward of County Commissioners approved a major amendment to the Subdivision Regulations involving plat specifications and approval procedures. The change will go into effect on February 1, 1989. Under the new provisions, major subdivisions will require Concept Plan approval by the Planning Board prior to submittal of a Preliminary Plat and the Final Plat will be approved administratively. Under the existing provisions, a sketch plan is approved administratively and the Final Plat is approved by the Planning Board. The Planning Department recommends that a policy be established regarding the handling of those projects which are already in • progress. It is the desire of the Planning Department to minimize and avoid any disruption to those projects which have already received some form of approval. The Planning Department recommends that those Sketch Plans, Prelf~ninary Plans and Final Plats in various stages of the approval process be handled in the following manner: Sketch Plan Approval A Concept Plan will not be required where there is already an approved Sketch Elan. This would apply to all Sketch Plans approved since February 1, 1988 (sketch plena are valid for one year). After February 1, any modification of an existing Skstch Plan would requite Concept Plan submittal. However, the preliminary plat would be subject to the revised apecificatioas.
