The issue emerged from a recommendation by OWASA that the fields be denoted on such plats. A decision to require such notations on subdivision plats is a question of policy. Preliminary information obtained from Environmental Health personnel indicates that it is possible to denote primary and back-up nitrification fields on prelimi•~ nary and final subdivision plats but at a greater cost to bo~t.h the applicant and the Health Department. (See attached memo- randum.) RECOMMENDATION(S): The Administration recommends further assessment of the costs involved in a policy which requires delineation of primary and back-up nitrification fields on subdivision plats. Until further assessment of the costs required for such a policy is determined, the administration recommends that delineation of primary and back-up nitrification fields on subdivision plats not be required.
