<br />6 • ~ <br />s <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />• D, ~D^fl - PUBLIC PROCL~iMATIONS T RESCIND WATER RESTRICTIONS <br />on December 23, 1986 the following proclamation to rescind the <br />voluntary Stag® II water restrictions in the county portion of the OWASA <br />service area was issued by Chair Marshall: <br />"orange County has bean notified by the Orange water and sewer <br />Authority that the water supply situation has continued to improve. The <br />return of near normal precipitation has restored University Lake to about <br />2" below full and along with added water to the Quarry Reservoir and the <br />Cane Creek impoundment has reduced the overall system demand and increased <br />the water supply to more than three months. <br />As Chair of the orange County Beard of Commissioners, I hereby <br />rescind the voluntary stage II water restrictions Par those citizens who <br />live in the county portion of Orange Water and sewer Authority service <br />area. <br />I thank the citizens of Orange County in th® oWASA service area <br />for their cooperation during the drought of 1986 and ask that you continue <br />to practice goad stewardship of our natural resources." <br />On December 29, 1986 the following proclamation to rescind the <br />voluntary Stage II water restrictions in the county portion of the <br />Orange/Alamance and the Town of Hillsborough service area was issued by <br />Chair Marshall: <br />"The management of orange County has determined that with the <br />combination of available water sources and the forecast of normal rainfall <br />for the forthcoming winter months, the water level of Lake Orange is now <br />at the Stage I level in accordance with the County~s water Conservation <br />Ordinance. <br />As Chair of the Orange County Board of Commissioners, I hereby <br />rescind the voluntary stage II water restrictions for those citizens who <br />live in the County partian of the Orange/Alamance and the Town of <br />Hillsborough service aroma and use water obtained from any raw water supply <br />within Orange County. <br />I thank the citizens of Orange County in the Orange/Alamanoe and <br />the Town of Hillsborough service area for their cooperation during the <br />drought of 1986 and ask that you continue to practice good stewardship of <br />our natural resources.'{ <br />E. ITEMS FOR DECISION - CONSENT AGENDA <br />Item two was removed from the consent agenda for separate <br />consideration. <br />The following action was taken by the Hoard: <br />1. PUBLIC MBETING AND PUBLIC FARING POLICY ~ ~- ~~° ~~ <br />To adopt a policy that County management and County departments <br />will set general public meetings ar public hearings only at ouch times as <br />the Board of comaisgioners is not regularly scheduled to meet or fs not <br />expected to be absent from the County, as a group, for County-related <br />events. <br />2_, ANIMA, SHELTER - CHANGE, ORDER - removed for separate <br />consideration. <br />3. AME~iDMENT T0_COMMISS ON FOR WOMEN BYLAWS <br />To approve an amendment to the Commission for Women bylaws which <br />will increase membership on the Executive committee and make provisions <br />
