E. Different levels of award maybe made depending on whether the nominee was in real (or <br />perceived) danger of death or serious bodily harm. <br />F. Whether the nominee is acting in a civilian capacity at the time of service or act. <br />G. Whether the nominee is providing a service which they are professionally trained to provide on a <br />regular basis <br />H. Any citizen of Orange County can submit a nomination <br />Any service or act performed in Orange County can be recognized, regardless of whether the <br />nominee is an Orange County resident. <br />J. If the nominee was not in danger of death or serious bodily harm, but still rendered service to <br />someone who , a different level of award may be recommended. <br />K. Any Orange County resident who performs an act or service maybe nominated, even if the act or <br />service did not take place in Orange County. <br />L. Any or all established criteria may be waved on a case by case basis by the EMS Advisory council <br />in recommending an award to the Orange County Board of Commissioners, if the Council <br />determines that to do so would clearly advance the objectives of the heroism recognition program <br />M. Nominations should be presented the EMS Advisory Council within three years of the date of the <br />act or service. <br />III. TYPES OF ORANGE COUNTY AWARDS: <br />A. CITIZEN <br />Meritorious Action Award Involvement or Assistance Plaque and Citation <br />to provide aid <br />B. CITIZEN OR PUBLIC SAFETY <br />Legion of Honor Loss of life attempting to Posthumous Plaque and <br />save a life Citation to family <br />Courageous Action Award <br />Risked life or bodily harm <br />to save a life <br />Plaque, Citation and Metal <br />Lifesaving Award <br />Appropriate actions to save <br />a life <br />Plaque, Citation and Metal <br />s <br />
